Bowral Match Report

Last Saturday we travelled up the hill to Bowral. It was bitterly cold in the highlands and the wind was going to be a factor in the game, as it was against Tech.

Second grade started off poorly with a penalty try (yellow card) to Bowral for a high tackle from Shamies. Bowral then proceeded to make use of the extra man and put on two more tries. Going into the second half of the game Bowral continued to put on points building to 35 to nil before Shamies started to get things together, scoring two converted tries.

Final score 33 to Bowral 14 to Shamies

First grade, was 5th vs 6t on the table. It started off with a quick converted try to Shamies. Bowral struck back with a converted try, then another and another. At half time 21 to 7 to Bowral. Then Shamies started its’ second half come back, with an unconverted try out wide. Shamrocks over-took Bowral with 2, nicely worked, converted tries to get to 26 to 21. Ryan Schoupp’s boot was on target, in difficult conditions. But still only an unconverted try in it, Then, a penalty 30 m out and well to the side, Ryan stepped up and slotted it, a really nice kick. 5 minutes of stress as Shamies held on for a fantastic win and party on the bus trip home.
